As the core equipment of modern warehouse material handling, electric forklifts have been widely applied in all kinds of indoor logistics scenarios for their low noise, zero local emission and flexible operation features. For frontline operators and logistics managers, mastering correct usage rules can help improve operation efficiency, reduce unnecessary wear and avoid potential safety risks to a large extent.
Core Safety Pre-checks Before Daily Operation
Before starting the machine every shift, operators need to complete a series of basic checks rather than directly start working. First, check the apparent state of the vehicle body, confirm there is no obvious damage to the tire, fork and guard frame, and the surrounding operation area has no obstacles or unrelated personnel. Next, test the flexibility of the steering system, lifting system and braking system, make sure all response functions work smoothly without delay. It is also necessary to check the remaining power level of the power battery, confirm that the battery connecting parts are in good contact without looseness or liquid leakage, to avoid sudden power failure in the middle of operation.
Efficient Operating Habits to Reduce Unnecessary Wear
During daily operation, standardized operation habits can effectively avoid extra loss of core components. Operators should avoid sharp acceleration or sharp deceleration when driving, keep the running speed matched with the actual road condition of the warehouse, and slow down in areas with dense personnel or narrow passages. When picking up and placing goods, do not lift the load to the highest limit of the fork arm for a long time, and do not carry goods beyond the rated load range, which may cause extra pressure on the bearing and lifting hydraulic parts. For long distance transfer of goods, try to keep the fork arm 10 to 20 cm above the ground, to prevent the goods from falling due to bumping on the uneven road surface.
Routine Maintenance Points to Prolong Comprehensive Service Life
Regular daily maintenance is the foundation of long-term stable operation of electric forklifts. After the daily operation is finished, operators need to park the vehicle in the designated fixed area, turn off all power supply switches in sequence, clean the dust and sundries attached to the vehicle body and heat dissipation parts. For the battery part, follow the standard charging process, do not charge the battery under the state of serious power loss, and maintain good ventilation in the charging area to avoid overheating of the battery during charging. It is also recommended to arrange professional personnel to carry out regular overall inspection every certain cycle, timely find and solve hidden small problems, so as to keep the equipment in good working condition for a long time.
