Beginner operators who start using electric pallet trucks in daily warehouse operations often lack systematic awareness of standardized brake and stop procedures, which may lead to unnecessary equipment wear, cargo collision, or even minor safety accidents if they operate incorrectly. This targeted training course is designed to help all new operators master standardized, safety-first brake and stop skills without blind speculative operation, laying a solid foundation for compliant post work.
Before starting formal skill training, all beginners need to complete the pre-inspection link first. They should first confirm that the brake system of the idle electric pallet truck has no abnormal deformation, the emergency stop button responds sensitively, and the operation site is a flat, empty area without stacked cargo or passing personnel, to create a fully safe practice environment. No beginner is allowed to start brake practice before finishing all these basic checks to eliminate hidden risks in advance.
The first stage of practical training is low-speed brake practice. Beginners are required to drive the empty electric pallet truck at the lowest adjustable speed first, slowly press the brake control lever to feel the steady deceleration process, and get familiar with the corresponding force feedback between different pressing strokes of the brake part and the deceleration speed of the truck, to avoid sudden sharp braking that causes cargo slip. After trainees fully master low-speed brake operation, they can move to the second stage with medium-speed driving, to practice adjusting brake strength according to different running speeds and remaining braking distance, to ensure the truck stops stably at the preset position without offset.
After mastering conventional brake skills, beginners need to learn the standard application scenarios of the emergency stop function. They need to clearly know that the emergency stop button can only be used when there is sudden personnel crossing, unexpected obstacle appearing on the running path, or other urgent situations that conventional braking cannot handle, and they should not trigger the emergency stop function casually in normal running. For post-stop procedures, beginners need to turn off the power switch after the truck is parked stably, pull up the brake lock, and park the equipment in the specified designated area, and never block the passage or fire fighting access.
After the whole training process, the supervisor will arrange practical assessment for each beginner operator, and only those who can complete all brake and stop operations in full compliance with the safety standards can be allowed to take independent post operation. Long-term regular retraining of brake and stop skills can effectively reduce the operation risk of electric pallet trucks in daily warehouse scenarios, creating a more secure working environment for all on-site personnel.
