With the wide application of electric pallet trucks in manufacturing workshops, logistics warehouses and distribution centers, standardized speed control and systematic in-facility traffic management have become core links to reduce operation risks, avoid collision accidents and guarantee smooth daily material handling. This set of universal guidelines is formulated based on common operation scenarios of facilities, to provide clear reference for relevant management and operation personnel.
The first part focuses on core speed control specifications for different scenarios. For unobstructed main dedicated channels for pallet trucks, the maximum driving speed shall not exceed 5km/h according to the general site layout. For areas with dense staff such as picking zones, loading and unloading platforms, and facility entrances and exits, the rated driving speed shall be controlled below 3km/h. When passing through blind corners, narrow channel intersections, areas with wet or uneven ground, the operation personnel shall further reduce the speed to no more than 2km/h, and give appropriate sound prompts to confirm no hidden dangers ahead. No personnel shall disassemble or modify the original speed limiting device of the equipment without permission. The speed monitoring module of the equipment shall be checked in each pre-shift inspection process to ensure the displayed speed data is accurate and effective.
The second part covers complete in-facility traffic management rules. The facility management party shall divide independent driving paths for electric pallet trucks and exclusive walking paths for pedestrians, and set obvious isolation facilities or identification lines at the junction of different paths. Warning signs, light reminder devices and buffer zones shall be set up in advance at all intersections of the operation area. During the driving process, operators shall keep a safe distance of no less than 1 meter from surrounding pedestrians, other handling equipment and stacked goods. It is forbidden to carry extra people on the pallet truck, and the goods shall be kept at a low position during moving to avoid blocking the sight of the operator. All pallet trucks shall be parked in the designated parking area after use, and no vehicle is allowed to block the fire exit, elevator entrance, emergency passage and equipment access port.
The third part specifies supporting daily management requirements. All operators of electric pallet trucks shall receive regular safety operation training, and pass the assessment of regional speed limits and traffic management rules before taking up the post. The site management team shall arrange regular patrols to check the implementation of speed control and traffic rules, collect feedback from frontline operators on unreasonable path settings or speed limits, and adjust relevant rules dynamically according to actual operation conditions. Regular hidden danger investigation can effectively reduce the probability of operation accidents, and create a safer and more orderly working environment for all personnel in the facility.
