Nowadays, electric forklifts have become core supporting equipment for modern warehouse operations and indoor material handling scenarios, with their low noise, zero local emission and flexible operation features gaining wide recognition across different industrial sectors. Many frontline operators and site management teams still lack systematic cognition of correct usage and daily management, which may lead to unnecessary performance loss and extra operating cost in long-term daily operations.
Basic Daily Pre-operation Inspection
Before starting any shift operation, operators need to conduct a series of routine checks to confirm the overall status of the equipment. The first step is to check the remaining power level of the battery pack, confirm there is no liquid leakage or abnormal deformation on the battery shell, and ensure the connection terminals are in good contact without obvious corrosion trace. Next, operators can test the lifting and tilting function of the mast, check the wear condition of the forks, and verify the flexibility of the steering system and braking response. All these checks take no more than 10 minutes for a standard operation team, and can effectively avoid sudden shutdown during high-intensity operation peak periods.
Standardized Operation Habits to Reduce Wear and Tear
Forming standardized operation habits can effectively slow down the aging speed of core components. Operators should avoid sudden full start and emergency stop actions as much as possible, keep the load center within the standard rated range stipulated in the equipment specification, and do not run the equipment under overloaded status for a long time. When operating in narrow warehouse aisles, operators need to keep a proper distance from surrounding shelves and stacked goods to avoid unexpected collision that may damage the body shell and internal wiring harness. For long-distance transfer across different functional areas of the site, keep the running speed at a reasonable level adapted to the on-site environment, so as to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
Scheduled Professional Maintenance Arrangement
Apart from daily checks, arranging regular professional maintenance according to the equipment’s actual usage frequency is also essential for long term stable operation. During the maintenance process, professional personnel can clean the dust and sundries accumulated in the motor heat dissipation structure, check the lubrication status of all transmission parts, and replace the aged seals and easily worn parts in time. This kind of regular maintenance can also help operators discover potential hidden troubles in the early stage, and avoid unexpected shutdown that may affect the whole operation schedule. When the equipment is not in use for a long time, park it in a dry and ventilated area, cut off the main power supply, and charge the battery at fixed intervals to keep the cell activity at a reasonable level. For different application scenarios, teams can also adjust the specific management rules according to their actual operation conditions, to give full play to the advantages of electric forklifts in low operating cost and high operation comfort.
